Our programs are FREE as a service to the community. Programs can be scheduled for students from 2nd to 12th grade. Each grade level has a different lesson plan that caters to the students' learning level. Subjects discussed in these lessons are:
2nd Grade: "Respecting Our Animal Friends" - includes Animal Communication, Pet Overpopulation, and Choosing the Right Pet
3rd Grade: "Animals that Share our World" - includes Surprising Facts About Pets and Extinct is Forever Part 1 and 2
4th Grade: "You Can Make a Difference" - includes Animal Issues and Training Your Pet
5th Grade: "Animal Attitudes" - includes Animal Attitudes and Protecting Animals & Our Earth
6th-12th Grades: "Helping the Animals in Our Community" - includes an in-depth look at the programs and services offered by the Houston SPCA as well as ways to help animals in the community, Animal Diseases & Prevention, Conservation of our Natural Resources & Helping Wildlife, and Training Your Pet & Animal Careers.*
Career Day: "Careers Working With Animals" - for grades 2nd through 12th grade, discusses the possibility of turning a child's interest in animals into a career.*
* Note: These lessons can be modified to fit the grade level.
