Girl ScoutsIf you are a Girl Scout who loves animals, this is the program for you! The Houston SPCA presents the "Paw Pals" Girl Scout Patch Program. Each scout will receive a Houston SPCA Patch and a Paw Print Patch for $3 per scout. The program will focus on "Safety with Strays" adjusted to their appropriate age level. Patches are purchased directly from the Houston SPCA upon completion of the program. To receive the Houston SPCA Paw Pals Patch, there are activities in each packet to choose from. One required activity is to tour the shelter. Call 713-869-7722 ext. 143, or email the Humane Education department to schedule a shelter tour. Shelter tours are free and available by appointment 7 days a week. Tours are conducted on Saturdays and Sundays at 12 pm and 2pm. Tours last approximately one hour. There will be no tours of the shelter June 10th – August 16th because of the Houston SPCA Summer Critter Camp. Currently we are booking tours starting in the Fall of 2013. This applies to all children's groups. A donation drive is always a great idea. Since we are a non-profit organization and receive no government funding, donations of supplies are a tremendous help. Please see our wish list for items we need at the shelter. There is currently no program available for Boy Scouts at this time. Please check back in the Fall of 2013 for updated information. |
