Director of Finance
The Director of Finance is responsible for managing the financial operations of the Houston SPCA, including systems for reporting program and financial activities and safeguarding the assets of the organization. The Director of Finance is the principal communicator for financial matters of the Houston SPCA. Other responsibilities may include Department oversight and personnel development, budgeting and financial management, planning and strategy development, audit, training/supervising Finance Department staff. All other duties are as assigned. This position reports to the President. Job Requirements are as follows:
*Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
*Minimum 5 years accounting experience.
*Non-profit financial management and accounting experience preferred
*CPA a plus
Computer skills, phone skills, organizational skills and time management a must. Full time, M-F, able to work around/with all types of animals (domestic, exotic, farm). Animal Care Manager
Provide leadership Animal Care Services, including Animal Care Coordinators Responsibilities include the feeding, cleaning and maintenance of 400-600 animals. Strong experience in animal husbandry, previous management experience, schedule making, management of multiple areas/people. Excellent customer service skills, computer skills, phone skills, organizational skills and time management a must. Full time position, able to work weekends, able to work around/with all types of animals (domestic, exotic, farm). Reports VP of Operations. Salary 40s. Competitive benefits package. Facilities Maintenance Assistant
Seeking an energetic, detail-oriented self starter with a general maintenance background. Experience required in one of the following areas: Carpentry, sheetrock repair, painting, electrical, plumbing. Full time, weekend hours, able to work around animals. $10-$15/hour, benefits package. Animal Rescue Technician
Join a dedicated team of professionals who assist the community by responding to calls regarding injured and distressed animals. The Houston SPCA is the only agency in our area providing an injured animal rescue service 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Must have a good driving record, be able to work varied shift schedules (weekends, nights and holidays included) and be prepared to work as part of a team where other duties may be assigned. $12/hour, benefits.
