Houston SPCA’s iWalk for Animals Funds Protection & Rescue Efforts for All Animals

Be Part of the Movement and “walk where you are” on Sunday, November 11 at Sunset

The Houston SPCA announces its second annual iWalk for Animals, a lifesaving venture that encourages animal-lovers across Houston and around the globe to “walk where they are” at sunset on Sunday, November 11 to help give orphaned, abused and neglected animals a second chance at life. Walkers are urged to gather with friends and family, with or without their pets, at sunset on November 11 at a location of their choice to support the protection and rescue efforts of all animals in the greater Houston area.  Participants can register at iWALKforAnimals.org, individually or as teams, to help the voiceless victims of animal cruelty and neglect.  Raise $100 or more and receive a limited edition iWalk for Animals t-shirt. Fundraising tips may be found online at iWALKforAnimals.org. “We are very excited about the flexibility of the iWalk,” explained Patricia Mercer, president of the Houston SPCA. “We understand people are especially busy these days. With the iWalk, we want to offer a new, refreshing opportunity for people who love animals to enjoy a simple outdoor activity—wherever they are—while raising money to support animal protection and rescue. Participants do not have to go far, but the dollars they raise will have a profound impact on the thousands of animals in need of our help.”The iWalk goal of $350,000 will help support the many life-saving programs of the Houston SPCA, including placement of all healthy animals, cruelty investigations, disaster relief efforts, the area’s only 24-Hour Injured Animal Rescue Ambulance, spay/neuter, humane education and more. Committed to all animals, the Houston SPCA provided services last year to more than 100,000 animals. For additional information and to register for the iWalk, visit iWALKforAnimals.org or email iWALK@houstonspca.org.
