Permanent Full-Time Position
The Houston SPCA is seeking a Director of Finance and Administration to lead the finance, human resources, information technology and volunteer departments for the organization. This position is responsible for managing and directing the business functions of the Houston SPCA, while serving as a strategic leader reporting to the President.
Key responsibilities include oversight of the organization’s financial plans, financial operation and accounting processes based on GAAP; development and implementation of goals, policies and procedures related to all financial and accounting functions, including but not limited to reporting, budgeting, cash management, external audits and payroll; oversight of the organization’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters; ensure overall compliance with state and federal laws related to personnel matters; overall direction and administration of the volunteer program; oversight of the information technology functions of the organization, including development of strategies, goals and risk assessment/management.
Ideal candidate is a leader and team player with a passion for the organization’s mission. Successful candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years of accounting/financial management experience (preferably at the executive level); non-profit administration a plus. CPA, CMA, MA in Accounting or Finance or MBA is highly preferred.
