Tales From a Rescued Kitty
March 1 @ 2:00pm - Well it’s been a while since I updated my blog (you know how it is with the holidays and all). I have some very exciting news! Pudge, Uncle Samson, Max, my foster mom and I had a little chat and everyone thought I should become a permanent part of the family!! I’m soooooo happy about this and am very grateful for everyone’s support. I really love hanging with my B.F.F. Pudge and Uncle Samson & Max are always around to make sure I stay out of trouble (which really keeps them on their toes!!).
December 4 @ 5:40pm - I am getting bigger by the day and I was hoping to be available for adoption this week. Except that Mittens - he's foiled me once again. Before, I was just exposed to ringworm, now my foster mom thinks I actually have it so I keep getting sticky medicine on my ears. I hate it. It was much funnier watching Mittens get the medicine. This past weekend, I wanted everyone to know how grateful I was to be rescued by the folks at the Houston SPCA, so I paid all adoptions fees for kitties - and 54 felines went to new homes. That is so great! I can't wait until I'm one of them!
Tuesday, November 17 @ 9pm - I went to work today with my foster mom and I got to see Dr. Voitier. She is soooo nice and said I look great. I got another bath, which makes me grumpy, but when I got home, I told everyone who would listen what a great day I had!
Monday, November 26 @ 1pm - Check out this video I made with my foster mom. It shows me with Mittens and Sherman!
Saturday, November 24 @ 9pm - I am so excited! I just found a tent where I can hide and attack Mittens - the shoe is on the other foot! Where has this been all this time? I really want to explore the outdoors - Sherman and my foster mom go out and read every day - but she says I'd be an appetizer for a raptor. What does that mean? I can take on a raptor!!
Some of my Facebook friends have been asking how I ended up on the highway. I wish I could tell you but I really don't remember. I just remember waking up one day and being hungry and scared and yelling for help. And I watched a man watching me and I knew he would be the one to get me help - and he did. People are so great! Thank you for being so great!!
Thursday, November 22 @ 2:30pm - Whew - I LIKE Thanksgiving. My foster mom shared a little bite of turkey with me and Mittens - it's even better than anything else I've tried, but I can't have more than a bite. After an afternoon of eating and playing, I rested. I have to save my strength to fight off Mittens. Today I give thanks not just to the Houston SPCA team, but also the Houston Fire Department and the man who heard my cries and called for help.
Wednesday, November 21 @ 7pm - Today I went to work with my foster mom and we brought Mittens with us - I'm so much better in the car than he is because I'm very brave. We had another bath and I pouted for a while, but I ate a WHOLE CAN of junk food!! Which is okay because tomorrow is "Thanksgiving" and my foster mom asked me what I was thankful for. I'm thankful for the whole crew at the Houston SPCA who saved me and are working hard to make me healthy and sassy and ready for adoption. They're great!!
Sunday, November 18 @ 5pm - I am King of the World!! Mittens attacks me all the time, but I've mastered him. Now sometimes I chase after him. Just because he's bigger and furrier doesn't mean he's tougher - I'm scrappy. Dr. Voitier even said so. I like Dr. Votier. I hope I get to go to work tomorrow so I can see her again!
Saturday, November 17 @ 12nn - This Mittens - he is so bad. He attacks me all day long and keeps being put in a "time out" - he doesn't like that. But I'm getting good at fighting back. Uncle Samson has been working with him, so I've been on my own, but now my Uncle Max is taking care of me. He cleans me and he shares my canned food with me.
Friday, November 16, 2012 @ 9pm - I went to work again - I am sooooo good in the car. I'm not scared anymore and I travel without making a sound. I didn't eat very much and my foster mom keeps telling me she's worried. I don't know how to tell her that I'm okay and just taking my time. The dog doesn't seem to mind that I share his food still. His name is Sherman and he's very loud so I've been shouting back at him and we're friends now.
Thursday, November 15, 2012 @ 6:30pm - I went to work again today so the veterinary team could keep an eye on me. They kept feeding me junk food and poking me to "add fluids" and then giving me "junk food" again to help me. They said they were stimulating my appetite - I'm not going to tell them I just like junk food better than my real food! We'll see if I can fool my foster mommy...
Wednesday, November 14, 2012 @ 8pm - I went to work today with Mittens and my foster mommy - the car ride wasn't too bad. But we both had to get a bath because he has ringworm and I've been "exposed." And I'm already feeling icky and not hungry and then after my bath I was cold. But our foster mom took us home then I decided that the only food I want to eat is the dog's. Mittens eats my food so why can't I eat the dog's?
Wednesday, November 14, 2012 @ 9am - Today I'm back at the Houston SPCA shelter for a check up. The people here always take good kare of me and make me feel better. I have a busy day here, after a little photo shoot, I'm scheduled to take a nap, eat some lunch and than it will time for another nap. Hope I can get it all done!
Tuesday, November 11, 2012 @ 7pm - Well, I was supposed to go to the doctor today, but then I realized it meant being in the car, so I hid all morning and my foster mom couldn’t find me. When she got home, she found my special hiding place, so I have to go tomorrow, car or not. That’s okay, my buddy has to go too so we can keep each other brave. My foster mom reminded me she loves me. I don’t know what that means yet but I think it might be what makes my purr happen.
Monday, November 12, 2012 @ 7pm - Today was a long day. My foster mom went to "work" and left us at home and it was a little bit scary. Not as scary as being on the highway though. I'm not feeling very good so I'm going to work tomorrow too and I can see my friends in veterinary services - they always help me!
Sunday, November 11, 2012 @ 5pm - Today I learned about football. There are a lot of teams who have cats as their name – cats rule everything, it seems. Mittens and I have figured out how to get out of the “kitten room” and we just run around all day and even the dog doesn’t bother me. Well, except for when I tried to check out his toy. Note to self, no dog toys for me.
Saturday, November 11, 2012 @ 7:30pm – Mittens is still a lunatic (I call him Dennis the Menace behind his back), but we’re getting along a little better. I don’t like it when he attacks me without warning, but Uncle Samson helps me stand up for myself. The dog got a bath today – I sure hope I don’t have to have one of those! Except he seemed to like the towel part of it so maybe I should check into that.
Saturday, Novmeber 10, 2012 @ 8am - I like this foster home - all the food Mittens and I can eat, toys that move and make noise. I slept on the "couch" last night with the person. The dog "snores" very loudly, but I curled up and talked to him and finally fell asleep purring - I've become very good at purring. I think that one of the cats, Samson, is my uncle. He cleans my face and talks to me and lets Mittens attack his tail.
Friday, November 9 2012 @ 7pm - I have arrived at my "foster home" - it's a whole house and it comes with a person and a big loud thing called a dog, and three big cats and this other kitten named Mittens. He's kind of crazy - I don't know about him yet. He keeps eating my food.
Friday, November 9, 2012 @ 2 pm - Well, it's been a week since I came flying off of the highway and nto the hands of the people who saved me. It's been a busy week - I eat, I talk, I sleep, I eat, I talk, I sleep, I eat - wait. Waht? Ew. Some person just put another kitten in my space.
