By: Alice Sarmiento

The Houston SPCA is reaching out to bird lovers who are interested in saving a life by adopting a feathered friend.

The Houston SPCA was recently awarded custody of 1,007 animals which were found living in deplorable conditions without proper food, shelter, and water on a property in Northwest Houston. Many of the animals were suffering from malnutrition and dehydration along with a host of other medical conditions. The majority of the animals are birds which include finches, quakers, parrots and about 100 parakeets. With the care and expertise of the Houston SPCA veterinarians and volunteer veterinarians, the animals are now ready to be placed in their forever homes.
The Houston SPCA is reaching out to bird lovers who are interested in saving a life by adopting a feathered friend. Approved adopters will be able to take home any of the birds listed below TODAY!
· Finches 2 for $5
· Parakeets 2 for $10
· Limited number of Quakers and Parrots range between $50 - $75
The Houston SPCa is open 7 days a week from Noon to 8pm and our qualified staff will be on hand to help assist the general public with the adoption process. We are thankful to the public, our adoption partners, and the Houston SPCA medical staff and volunteers for all they have done to help these animals have a better tomorrow.
