Summer came to the Houston SPCA barely clinging to life; yet, in spite of the struggle, she has blossomed into a beautiful horse who has a whole lot of life left in her. Summer is a 20 year old Arabian mare who stands approximately 15.0 HH. In spite of her age, Summer is full of energy and spunk. She can walk, trot, canter and neck rein under saddle. Summer has been ridden many times in the round pen, and several times out in a large open field without problems. In typical Arabian fashion, Summer has an independent attitude but is also very people oriented. She is very vocal and loves to “talk” to you all of the time. She is very intelligent, and has lots of experience under her belt. Due to this, everyday tasks such as bathing, picking up her feet, grooming, loading, etc., are not a problem for her; she does it all very well without problems. Summer’s adoption fee is $400.
